Biography description
Kirk Emery is the national co-lead of the Technology practice group at Miller Thomson. Kirk advises clients on M&A, corporate finance, governance, and other significant corporate and commercial matters in Canada and abroad. He counsels publicly traded and privately held companies, as well as private equity sponsors and venture capital firms, in diverse industries, particularly those involving technology, advanced manufacturing, data centres, and other innovative areas.
Kirk uses his deep understanding of his clients and their industries to relentlessly promote their interests. He is a frequent public speaker and writer on topics including technology, innovation, and law. He was Executive Vice-President of Legal at a technology unicorn. Kirk holds legal licenses in Canada and the US and frequently advises on cross-border transactions.
