Biography description
David helps both emerging and established businesses with a broad range of IP matters. He has extensive experience counseling clients on IP strategy in support of technology transactions and product development, conducting due diligence to identify and manage risk, and negotiating technology license agreements. David’s practice also includes patent preparation, prosecution, and world-wide portfolio management. He leverages his technical background and hands-on engineering experience to quickly understand complex technologies in an array of fields, including medical devices, diagnostics, manufacturing, and consumer products. Additionally, with his prior litigation experience David frequently counsels clients and provides opinions in support of IP litigation.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson, David practiced in New York and Texas in the IP department of an international law firm recognized by Chambers and others for its strength in IP. Before law school, David worked for a Fortune 500 company in the semiconductor industry, where he further developed his passion for technology and interest in manufacturing.
