Biography description

Michelle is an associate at Miller Thomson LLP who is dedicated to assisting charities, not-for-profits, co-operatives, and other purpose-driven organizations. She assists clients with various matters, including incorporation, charitable registration, governance, operational matters, fundraising, tax and regulatory compliance, and non-market and affordable housing developments.

Michelle joined the firm as a summer student in 2021 and completed her articles in 2023. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law in 2022 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2023. Prior to attending law school, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) from Simon Fraser University.

Michelle’s dedication to her community is reflected in the numerous volunteer positions she has held, including at a crisis centre and as a volunteer providing pro bono legal services during law school.

Michelle is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association, Vancouver Bar Association, and Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (British Columbia).
