Esther Gao is a transactional environmental lawyer whose practice focuses on environmental aspects of domestic and cross-border business transactions. She advises clients on environmental regulatory compliance, due diligence, and risk allocation, helping them navigate complex legal and technical issues while advancing their commercial objectives. Esther provides legal services in English, French, and Mandarin.

Esther represents clients across the mining, energy, infrastructure, transportation, technology, financial services, and real estate sectors. She advises buyers, investors, lenders, and project proponents on matters involving contaminated lands, climate change and greenhouse gas emissions, ESG disclosure, insurance, and Indigenous consultation and regulatory approvals.
