Biography description
Adam Thompson focuses his practice on the handling of commercial real estate, joint venture and financial transactions, with an emphasis on the creation and rehabilitation of non-market and social housing developments. He has comprehensive experience in guiding a project from conception, acquisition, financing, entitlement, ground-up construction, stabilization and eventual disposition, as well as advising on the creation, governance, structuring and operation of non-profits, co-operatives, community land trusts and other affordable housing organizations.
In addition to his legal practice, Adam is an active participant and committed voice in the community housing sector, frequently presenting on housing related topics and authoring multiple publications with the Canadian Network of Community Land Trusts.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson in 2020, Adam practiced law in California where, for six consecutive years, he was honoured by Thomson Reuters as a Northern California Super Lawyer “Rising Star.”
