Biography description
Mahnoor Khalid is an associate in the Advocacy Group at Miller Thomson, practicing general commercial litigation with a focus on insurance litigation and defence. She supports clients across a range of complex disputes, including regulatory compliance and complaint-driven matters. Mahnoor brings a thoughtful and detail-oriented approach to her files, with a focus on clear communication, thorough preparation, and efficient resolution. She further developed these skills during her articling term, where she appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court and assisted senior counsel on matters at all stages of litigation, including mediations and settlement discussions.
Mahnoor joined Miller Thomson as a summer student in 2024 and completed her articles with the firm in 2026. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2025. During law school, she served as President of the Muslim Law Students’ Association and gained advocacy experience through volunteering as a Case Worker with Student Legal Assistance. Prior to law school, Mahnoor earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, with a specialization in English.
Mahnoor is committed to community involvement and thoughtful advocacy. Through Student Legal Assistance, she appeared in family and traffic court, providing support to members of the community navigating legal issues. During law school, she also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada on the Trellis Youth Legal Information Project, where she helped develop accessible legal information and resources for youth involved in the legal system.
