Miller Thomson is pleased to announce that Nora Osbaldeston, Partner in the National Financial Services Group, has received the Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award for the second time, in recognition of her ongoing impact on the legal profession and leadership in the community. Nora received her first WXN Top 100 Award in 2009. The 2025 Top 100 Award winners will be honoured in person at the 23rd annual Awards Gala, on November 27 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.

Nora has served on the Firm’s leadership team for over 20 years, most recently as Regional Managing Partner for Ontario and as a member of the Executive Committee. She is a former Office Managing Partner for Toronto, Vaughan, and Markham, and has led the Firm’s National Financial Services group. Over her career, Nora has chaired or contributed to numerous committees, including strategic planning, professional development, recruitment, and compensation, helping to shape the Firm’s direction and growth.

“For the last two decades, our Firm has had the privilege of witnessing Nora’s barrier-breaking leadership, resilience, and commitment to the legal profession,” said Enzo Di Iorio, Chair of Miller Thomson. “She has broken new ground: from being the first female Office Managing Partner in our history to leading as Regional Managing Partner for Ontario, guiding critical committees, and encouraging high performance across the Firm. Nora mentors lawyers at all levels, adopts a culture of inclusion and belonging, and aligns people, business, and DEI strategies. She combines exceptional legal expertise with a people-first approach, creating an environment where others can thrive and lead. She is truly deserving of this award, and we are proud to see her recognized.”

With deep expertise in domestic and cross-border financing, Nora advises lenders and borrowers across a wide range of industries. She has also been elected Americas Regional Chair of Multilaw, serving on its Management Committee, and continues to play a leading role in Miller Thomson’s strategic growth.

Beyond her legal practice, Nora is a founding member of the community organization Swim Drink Fish Canada and serves on the board of RFA Bank. She has been recognized as a leading lawyer in banking and finance, receiving numerous accolades including Best Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert, the Lexpert Zenith Award, the inaugural Federated Press Women in Law Leadership Award, and named, once again, by Women’s Executive Network (WXN) as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100.

Since the program launched, WXN has celebrated 1,833 women with a Top 100 Award, including Lisa LaFlamme, Princess Sarah Culberson, the Honourable Rona Ambrose, and Dr. Makaziwe Mandela. Winners were selected by WXN’s Global Alliance for Inclusive Leadership, a partnership of established and influential corporations committed to helping women rise and lead. They span the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.
