Biography description
Baktash Waseil brings an extensive background in commercial and civil litigation to the table, representing both private and public corporations in various sectors. His knowledge and experience span complex contractual disputes, debt recovery, shareholder issues, and privacy concerns. Baktash is dedicated to crafting tailored strategies to help clients achieve their objectives, working closely with them for optimal outcomes. With experiences at prestigious legal institutions before joining the firm, he is well-versed in navigating the nuances of the legal landscape. Fluent in English and French, Baktash delivers legal services in both official languages.
Baktash acts for school boards, private schools, insurers, individuals, and non-profit and religious organizations on various matters. He is a member of the President’s Advisory Council for the Markham Stouffville Hospital, and provides free legal advice to students at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
Baktash is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, The Advocates’ Society, and the Toronto Lawyers’ Association. Prior to joining the firm, Baktash worked as a Research Assistant at the Supreme Court of Canada and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ottawa (Faculty of Law).
