Biography description

Ashley Maciuk advises healthcare clients on a wide range of matters involving risk management, policy, regulatory compliance, and corporate issues, while also representing clients in administrative and civil disputes. Her experience spans broadly across health law and includes privacy, consent and capacity, assisted reproduction, senior living, long-term care, home care, community support services, quality reviews, information management, and regulated professionals. Motivated by a passion for supporting a strong healthcare system, Ashley applies her interdisciplinary background to client issues to develop solutions that are strategic, tailored, and pragmatic.

Before joining Miller Thomson, Ashley advocated on behalf of patients, hospitals, health organizations, physicians, dentists, and veterinarians in private practice and in-house settings. Most recently, she advised and defended health sector clients at a national law firm. Ashley also holds a Master of Science in Global Health.

Ashley regularly delivers educational seminars on medical documentation, risk management, and regulatory compliance to health organizations. She also contributes to thought leadership in publications such as the Annual Review of Civil Litigation. Within the community, Ashley is an active volunteer with Pro Bono Ontario.
