RUSSIAN SANCTIONS – What You Need to Know
Miller Thomson partnered with Carson International to present a webinar addressing international trade issues and how to best navigate the changes.
Sanctions are tools that have been used by Canada and Western countries to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Since Russia’s occupation and annexation of Crimea in 2014, Canada has imposed sanctions on numerous individuals and entities under the Special Economics Measures Act (SEMA). Further sanctions have been imposed on more than 700 individuals and entities after the invasion of Ukraine by Russian on February 24, 2022. This webinar detailed and explored the actions that have been taken by Canadian authorities against Russia.
