Miller Thomson is pleased to announce that Danielle Joel and Max Muñoz have joined the Firm as Partners in the Toronto office. Danielle will be part of the Estates and Trusts Litigation group, and Max will join the Commercial Litigation group.

Danielle brings decades of experience advising clients on complex succession and trust matters, including issues involving private companies. She has been entrusted by some of Canada’s wealthiest families to handle high-conflict and novel matters, navigating multi-jurisdictional issues and providing tailored, practical solutions. Danielle also advises fiduciaries, beneficiaries, financial institutions, corporate trustees, private companies, and not-for-profits. She regularly appears on the Estates List of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, as well as before the Ontario Court of Appeal and Divisional Court, and resolves disputes through mediation.

Max handles a broad range of litigation matters, including class actions, securities, construction, and product liability, as well as civil and regulatory proceedings involving directors and officers, broker/dealer disputes, and shareholder disputes. He has acted as lead counsel before all levels of court in Ontario and other Canadian jurisdictions, as well as before administrative boards and tribunals, including the Ontario Securities Commission. Max has represented domestic and multinational clients in complex litigation and class action defence across multiple industries.
