Evan Jacka

Biography description

Evan is an associate in Miller Thomson’s Advocacy Group. His practice is centered around construction and commercial disputes, assisting clients in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings.

Evan joined Miller Thomson as a summer student in 2023 and completed his articles with the firm in 2026. Prior to articling, Evan completed a summer placement with the in-house counsel team of a large construction company. Evan obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2025. During law school, he was recognized on the Dean’s List and received awards such as the Odishaw Family Prize in Techniques in Negotiation.

Before law school, Evan completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree (with Distinction) at the University of Alberta. Evan’s engineering education and experience helped him hone his problem-solving and analytical skills, which he incorporates into his legal work.

In addition to being a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association, Evan is proud to have served as a volunteer with the Court of King’s Bench Amicus program and the Court of Justice Civil Claims Duty Counsel program.
