Miller Thomson is pleased to welcome Gordon Van Vliet as a Partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Transactions and Leasing group, effective July 7th. Based in Calgary, Gord brings 25 years of experience advising public and private developers on complex commercial real estate matters in Alberta and British Columbia.
His practice includes land development, acquisitions and sales, leasing, co-ownership structures, secured lending, construction, and municipal planning. His arrival consolidates the Firm’s ability to support clients with real estate projects across Western Canada.
He is particularly recognized for his work on complex mixed-use condominium projects that require close coordination between residential and commercial components. Gord also advises companies on broader legal and business matters such as entity structuring, risk management, dispute resolution, and tax planning.
“Gord joins us at a time when we’re growing this team with intention, to meet the market’s demand for sharp, responsive advice,” says Jay Hoffman, Chair of the National Business Law Group at Miller Thomson. “Over the past few years, the real estate landscape has changed significantly. It’s a time of important shifts that bring new opportunities but also require strategic and experienced legal support.”
Miller Thomson also welcomed Ciaron Czajkowski to its Real Estate Transactions & Leasing group on June 16.
