Biography description
Cole Tavener practices construction, infrastructure, and energy law, focusing on procurements, contract negotiation and regulatory compliance for major projects. His approach to legal matters is informed by a decade of experience delivering critical projects for electric utilities in Ontario and the United Kingdom, enabling him to provide clients with highly practical solutions to their complex technical challenges.
Cole’s commercial practice involves negotiating bespoke equipment supply contracts, engineering and consulting services agreements, and construction contracts, as well as drafting supplementary conditions to standard form contracts. He also regularly advises clients on project delivery models, risk allocation and strategy for projects ranging from power plants to hotel redevelopments.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson, Cole practiced at a leading Canadian business law firm in Toronto.
