Our Group
Miller Thomson’s Labour and Employment Law Group members appear regularly on behalf of private and public sector clients before boards of arbitration, sole arbitrators, mediators, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Canada Industrial Relations Board, Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, Workplace Safety & Insurance Board, and Workplace Safety & Insurance Appeals Tribunal, along with other federal and provincial administrative agencies.
We provide advice on the interpretation of provincial and federal legislation governing employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, workplace safety and insurance, pensions and benefits, pay equity, and employment insurance matters.
Our Services
- Employment Contracts and Policies: We draft and advise on interpretation of employment contracts, policies and procedures, and severance documents
- Wrongful Dismissal and Other Litigation: Our lawyers advise on severance and termination packages, and act as counsel in wrongful dismissal litigation, unjust dismissal adjudications, and before the labour relations board in employment standards matters
- Judicial Review: We frequently represent employers in with applications for the judicial review of decisions by administration tribunals including boards of arbitrators, labour boards and workers’ compensation agencies
