Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto to expand downtown facilities in response to growing need

June 10, 2022

On May 31, 2022, Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto (“RMHC Toronto”) submitted an official plan amendment, zoning by-law amendment and site plan approval application for 240 McCaul Street, Toronto, Ontario for the expansion of the existing facility, to the City of Toronto for approval. The proposed redevelopment and significant expansion of its operations is made in response to the ever-increasing waitlist of families and growth of the nearby Hospital for Sick Children (“SickKids”), which RMHC Toronto will continue to support by receiving up to 2,400 families per year who require short-term accommodation – over double its current capacity.

RMHC Toronto is one of Canada’s most recognized not-for-profit organizations, providing short-term accommodation and related services to families with children being treated nearby in Toronto’s world-class hospitals.

Miller Thomson is advising RMHC Toronto with a team comprised of Tara Piurko (Municipal & Planning) and Sandra Luna-Martinez (Land Use Planner).
