Mona Soliman

Biography description

Mona has just completed her juris doctor degree from Western University. During her time in law school, she worked as a Research Assistant for Acting Dean Botterell and Assistant Dean (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization) Gurmukh on the “Hate Crimes Project” in collaboration with the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, developing an online tool to assist victims and law enforcement personnel in identifying whether a crime may be motivated by hate, bias or prejudice.

Prior to law school, Mona earned her Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University. During undergrad, Mona worked as a Global Treasury Analyst at International Justice Mission, the largest anti-trafficking organization in the world, where she worked with financial directors from around the world to implement safer global banking practices. Mona also spent three months living in Tijuana, Mexico working for a non-profit organization building houses for families in need.

In her spare time, Mona enjoys travelling, finding new restaurants to try out in Toronto, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and her dog, Samson.
