Biography description
Louis Haurat is currently in the second year of a Master’s degree in Comparative Business Law at Université Lumière Lyon 2, through a partnership with the Université de Montréal, where he is also completing an LL.M. This international experience is helping him build a comparative understanding of law and broaden his perspective on cross-border legal issues.
During his studies, Louis became especially interested in business law, including corporate law, security interests, and corporate governance. He has taken courses in a variety of areas, such as insolvency law, corporate tax law, accounting law, and private international law.
Louis has also had the opportunity to leverage his learnings in practical contexts like moot court and negotiation exercises. This has helped him to hone his analytical, summarizing, and oral advocacy skills. Before joining Miller Thomson, he worked at Uniqlo, where he developed a keen sense for customer service and teamwork in a demanding environment, and at the Hôtel des ventes Vassy & Jalenques, where he became acquainted with the legal issues surrounding insolvency proceedings and judicial sales.
Inquisitive and methodical, Louis is especially interested in the economic and strategic issues facing the business community. Beyond law, he enjoys travel, literature, cinema, and keeping up with economic and legal developments.
