Biography description

Shahbaaz is a member of Miller Thomson’s Construction Law Group in Edmonton. His practice focuses on construction law matters, which includes litigation and arbitration proceedings. Shahbaaz assists owners, contractors, and consultants in disputes involving contract interpretation, delay and deficiency claims, and other project-related issues. He takes a practical and steady approach to his work, aiming to make complex disputes easier for clients to navigate.

Before joining Miller Thomson, Shahbaaz practiced civil litigation in India appearing in various trial and appellate courts. His experience at the Civil Resolution Tribunal of British Columbia refined his skills in negotiation and dispute resolution, enabling him to assist clients through both litigation and arbitration processes effectively.

Shahbaaz is actively engaged in community initiatives and volunteer work. In India, he volunteered his time on pro bono cases and contributed to his family’s charitable initiatives supporting access to education. He remains committed to initiatives that promote fairness and regularly volunteers with the Court of King’s Bench Amicus Program.
