Biography description
Max Muñoz is a skilled litigator, problem solver, and strategic advisor who is known for providing outstanding service and pragmatic advice to his clients. His commercial litigation practice spans corporate, securities, product liability, P3-related, and shareholder disputes. He has acted as lead counsel before all levels of court in Ontario and has represented clients in other Canadian jurisdictions, as well as before numerous administrative boards and tribunals, including the Ontario Securities Commission. He has considerable class actions defence experience representing both domestic and multinational clients, and arbitration experience representing both domestic and multinational clients.
Max has been a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, where he taught a course on white-collar crime. He also spent three years Duty Counsel with the Ontario Securities Commission Litigation Assistance program, assisting unrepresented litigants facing OSC proceedings, and as Duty Counsel for the Holland Bloorview Pro Bono project, representing families denied government benefits in proceedings at the Social Benefits Tribunal.
Max has led complex litigation matters and represented high-profile national and international clients across multiple industries. He was the Co-Chair of the Class Actions Practice Group while at Aird & Berlis and is a Member-at-Large of The Advocates’ Society Class Actions Practice Group.
Max was previously a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and volunteers as Duty Counsel with the Ontario Securities Commission Litigation Assistance program and the Holland Bloorview Pro Bono project.
