Biography description

Cassandra Dhanapala is a JD candidate in the Class of 2028 at Western Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Waterloo.

Cassandra brings a strong commitment to community-based work. Prior to law school, she was actively involved in the Waterloo region, working on the Emergency Supply Teaching List with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and volunteering with Cops and Youth through Waterloo Regional Police Service. She also played a key role in organizing the inaugural Braiding Diversity into Justice 2.0 event for undergraduate students, led by the Honourable Justice Catrina Braid at the Kitchener Courthouse, and continues to support the initiative.

At Western Law, Cassandra continues her commitment to community engagement through Pro Bono Students Canada. As part of Project Consent, she delivers legal education to high school students in the London area.

In her free time, Cassandra enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her dog, Layla.
