Molly Luu moderates the “Practical Issues in Buying and Selling a Business” and “Personal & Corporate Tax Planning with Life Insurance” panels at the 2023 Ontario Tax Conference on October 23, 2023 from 1:15PM to 3:10 PM.

The first session will examine selected tax considerations in structuring the buying and selling of a business including consideration of the impact of the recent decision in the Foix case regarding the application of subsection 84(2) of the Income Tax Act.

The second session involves how life insurance solutions have become increasingly relevant as tools in estate and succession planning for both high net worth individuals and owner-managed businesses. This session will provide practical strategies for the successful implementation of insurance solutions at both the personal and corporate levels. Using case studies, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of tax and other planning issues to ensure that the structures you implement for your clients achieve their short-term and long-term goals.
