Lawyers from Miller Thomson’s Social Impact Group speak at multiple sessions at the Canadian Association of Gift Planners 2023 Conference:

Amanda Stacey moderates “Hot Topics from CAGP’s Government Relations Committee”, which will delve into the Committee’s agenda over the last year.

Andrew Valentine and Gwenyth Stadig present on “Endowment Agreements in 2023”, reviewing what should be in every agreement, how fund agreements can be made more user-friendly for both donors and charities, as well as tips and traps learned over years of working with charities, foundations and their donors.

Susan Manwaring speaks on “A Compelling Case Study: The Tale of a Gift that did not Happen”, highlighting a case study of a donor who wanted to make a gift with an impending deadline. Learn how the charity worked together with their lawyers, the donor’s financial planner, and a donor advised fund foundation to try to make the gift happen.
