Miller Thomson advises winners of top GTA real estate award

On March 22, 2018, NAIOP Greater Toronto announced the winners of the 2017 REX Awards at a gala celebration. NAIOP is the pre-eminent Commercial Real Estate Industry/Development Association in North America. The REX Awards celebrate the achievements of the office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate industry in the Greater Toronto Area, with a focus on results (quality and performance), skills (teamwork, collaboration, innovation and creativity) and values (community and environmental awareness).

The “Investment Deal of the Year” was awarded to a joint venture involving Bentall Kennedy, Hullmark Developments Ltd. and Sun Life Investment Management with respect to “Radiator”, a former radiator factory now being developed as a premier rental location in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood.

Miller Thomson advised Sun Life/Bentall Kennedy with respect to its participation in this joint venture with a team that was led by Savvas Kotsopoulos and included Anna Balinsky (corporate), Bryan Buttigieg (environmental), Nora Osbaldeston (financial services), David Tang (municipal), Gerald Courage (tax) and Stuart Chaimberg, Susan Crisp and Penny Rosu-Myles (real estate).
