Charities and non-profits can now pre-register for free COVID-19 workplace rapid testing

June 4, 2021 | Graham May

According to the Government of Canada, up to 50% of COVID-19 transmission may be through people without symptoms. Regular workplace testing can help keep staff and clients safe. Charities and non-profits can now pre-register to receive free rapid tests for use in the workplace.

Non-profits and charities whose employees must come into close contact with others can request free tests on the Government of Canada’s online portal. Charities, non-profits, and Indigenous community organizations can also pre-register to access rapid tests through the Canadian Red Cross.

Rapid antigen tests are safe and easy to administer and provide results in 15 minutes. This initiative seeks to make rapid tests available to high-risk employees twice a week, in addition to regular testing for those who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19.
