Overview

James returns to Miller Thomson as an Articling Student after completing a summer placement with the firm in 2021. James obtained his Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 2023 and clerked with The Honourable Justice T. Wakeling of the Court of Appeal of Alberta.

Prior to attending law school, James obtained his Bachelor of Education with Distinction from the University of Alberta. James later worked as a teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board and the Calgary Board of Education.

During law school, James was recognized on the Dean’s List, served on the Editorial Committee of the Alberta Law Review, participated in the Jessup International Law Moot, and worked as a Writing Fellow, where he helped teach the Legal Research and Writing course to first-year law students.

In his spare time, James enjoys playing hockey, golfing, and cheering on the Oilers.
