Omar is an associate in Miller Thomson’s Business Law Group, who advises both private and public clients in the areas of cross-border and domestic mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, capital markets, securities, shareholder and partnership agreements, corporate governance and other general corporate matters.
Omar provides pragmatic advice and counsel in a number of areas, including:
Mergers & Acquisitions: advises both domestic and international clients on acquisition and divestiture of shares and assets through asset and share purchase transactions.
Securities and Corporate Law: advises on complex securities issues, including advising clients on public and private brokered and non-brokered securities offerings, corporate governance matters, as well as advising public companies on regulatory and exchange matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Omar obtained his law degree at Western University with a focus in business law. During his time at Western, Omar was recognized on multiple occasions as an Academic All-Canadian and was awarded multiple Ontario University Athletics Achievement awards, as a member of Western’s rugby team. In addition, he was awarded a “Bronze W” for his efforts on the rugby pitch and the City of London Freedom 55 Financial Scholar-Athlete award.
