In a segment on BNN’s The Street, Jeffrey Carhart, a partner in the firm’s insolvency practice group, speaks with reporters on some of the legal implications of Target Canada Co.’s decision to wind down operations in Canada, and discusses some of the provisions not generally seen.

Target Canada filed for protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (“CCAA”) January 15, and is closing all 133 stores, affecting approximately 17,600 employees. Losses amount to US$2B since entering Canada in 2011.
