Several Miller Thomson lawyers will participate at the upcoming STEP Canada 16th National Conference, held at the Metro Toronto Convention, Centre on June 16 and 17, 2014.
Rachel Blumenfeld from the firm’s Private Client Services Group is the co-chair of the conference for the third consecutive year. The conference focuses on the latest developments in trust and estate practice, tax, trust law, trust administration, insurance and financial planning.
The Miller Thomson lawyers that will be part of various panel discussions are:
- Rachel Blumenfeld, Private Client Services Group, will be moderating a panel discussion on “Cross-Border Planning: Tax Traps and Mismatches »;
- William Fowlis, Tax Group will be presenting in 2 panel discussions on the topic of “Post Mortem Planning for Privately Held Corporations”;
- Rosanne Rocchi, Private Client Services Group is a panellist on a Professionalism Session discussing “Conflicts of Interest”;
- Greg Shannon, Tax Group will be presenting as part of a panel discussion on “21-Year Deemed Disposition Rule: Tricky and Costly Anniversary”.
