Miller Thomson thanked for pro bono class action supporting Canadian veterans

4 février 2014

On January 28, 2014, the 15th Field Artillery Regimental Society held its annual Robby Burns dinner in support of veterans and their families. Miller Thomson has been a proud sponsor of this event for several years and again purchased a table and invited military personnel who would otherwise have been unable to afford to attend the event. Four military veterans who served in Afghanistan, all under 30, were seated at the Miller Thomson table.

Following the introduction of the head table, Col Grant Smith, Hon. Col. of the Regiment, recognized Miller Thomson’s commitment and support for veterans, including the firm’s pro bono class action.  The class action, which the BC Supreme Court recently permitted to continue, seeks greater benefits and compensation for Canadian veterans. Guests included all sections of the government, civilian, military, police and first responders who expressed their appreciation and support for Miller Thomson with a standing ovation.
