Miller Thomson celebrated the launch of its second project at Ryerson University, on February 5, 2013, by hosting third and fourth year law and business degree students enrolled at the Ted Rogers School of Management. The students are part of a course that provides them with hands on learning experiences delivering services to student clients.

Says Jennifer Babe, chair of Miller Thomson’s national pro bono committee: « It is exciting to be working to  students to help guide future leaders through potential hurdles to aid in a successful launch of a business, or issues facing their existing business start up.  We are proud to be partnering with Ryerson and look forward to an ongoing relationship. »

During the academic year, students in the course, with guidance from Miller Thomson lawyers, provide practical information to Ryerson student entrepreneur clients in the areas of business law and entrepreneurship.  The student clients also obtain pro bono legal services from the firm’s lawyers to answer their legal concerns as part of the firm’s first program with Ryerson.

These Ryerson initiatives represent cooperative efforts among the Ryerson Law Research Centre, the Law & Business Faculty of Ryerson’s Ted Rogers School of Management, the Ryerson Students’ Union, Pro Bono Law Ontario and Miller Thomson LLP.
