Iain Benson will be arguing at the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of two National Associations on a case involving the scope of Provincial Powers and parental exemption requests in relation to a mandatory course on Ethics and Religious Culture.

Iain Benson will be arguing on behalf of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities and the Canadian Catholic School Trustees’ Association. The Province denied several thousand requests for exemption from the course. The case, S.L. and D.J. v. Commission Scholaire des Chenes has attracted considerable interest across Canada and eight groups are intervening including the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.
