Tom Ghag is a member of the tax group. His practice focuses on global trade and sales tax matters. He also acts on tax and customs dispute matters against the Canada Revenue Agency and the Canada Border Services Agency, as applicable.
In the area of global trade, Tom provides legal and strategic advice to clients navigating trade compliance audits, economic sanctions, export controls, and other issues arising from the movement of goods and the provision of services across international borders. He has assisted clients in many areas of the economy, including apparel, e-commerce, education, energy, first nations, food, manufacturing, marine and mining.
Tom’s sales tax practice focuses on assisting clients with navigating sales tax obligations across various industries and jurisdictions within Canada. Tom has experience with the GST/HST and the provincial sales taxes in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
