Roark Lewis is a lawyer in Miller Thomson’s Commercial Litigation Group. His litigation work has included contractual and business disputes, residential tenancy matters and strata disputes. He also has experience in First Nations law, environmental law and administrative law.
During law school, Roark volunteered for Our Place Society through Pro Bono Students of Canada, developing a legal education presentation on tenancy rights and responsibilities. Upon completing his first year, he worked as a research assistant and the course materials coordinator for the Faculty of Law. In 2016, Roark volunteered with the Pacific Centre for Environmental Law and Litigation, assisting lawyers with public interest litigation.
Before law school, Roark extensively studied Arabic and Middle East affairs at McGill University. While at McGill, Roark interned in Amman, Jordan for the Justice Centre for Legal Aid, a non-profit organization that provides pro bono legal services throughout Jordan. After completing his undergraduate degree, he worked as a fundraiser for various non-profit charities, procuring monthly donations and managing teams of fundraisers.
