John is building a broad real estate practice with a focus on commercial leasing and transactions. He works closely with colleges to ensure that each client receives the individual attention their matters deserve.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson as an Associate, John articled and summered at the firm. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2018 after receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba. While earning his degree John was the Editor of the Canadian Journal of Human Rights and was awarded the D.A. Thomson Q.C. Prize in Law for high academic achievement. During his first summer as a law student John worked at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto.
Before entering the legal field John received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree specializing in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University, where his academic endeavours resulted in the awarding of both the Jack O. Hurlbut/Bitove Foundation Scholarship and the Globe and Mail Hospitality/Hotel Tourism Management Scholarship. Upon graduation John became the youngest restaurant manager in one of Canada’s largest full-service restaurant companies.
