In his litigation-based practice, Ivan Bernardo maintains a special focus on health law, constitutional law, employment law, and privacy issues.
Ivan's preferred area of practice is civil litigation dealing with all aspects of health care delivery and administration. Ivan has provided advice and representation to clients in relation to hospital liability, mental health certification, public health enforcement, professional liability, labour and employment matters, and general civil litigation. He also provides advice and advocacy to private and public sector clients regarding compliance with provincial and federal privacy and access-to-information legislation.
Ivan has made oral or written submissions before all levels of court and types of tribunals in various Canadian jurisdictions, including making oral submissions at the Supreme Court of Canada.
