Biography description
Michael is completing his Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia (UBC) (with Honours), specializing in HR Management, with a concentration in Business Law. After completing his undergraduate studies, Michael spent a year working as an HR representative for the Fraser Health Authority in BC.
Michael is actively involved in his law school community, serving as the 1L representative for Pro Bono Students Canada’s (PBSC) Calgary chapter, where he helped organize community outreach opportunities and support networks for law students. He also volunteered in PBSC’s elementary mock trial program. In the upcoming year, Michael will serve as Co-President of the Business Law Association, following his role on the executive team where he helped the club partner with Calgary’s leading law firms to host networking events, organize educational panels, and secure faculty sponsorships.
While completing his undergraduate studies at UBC, Michael served as VP External for both the Sauder School of Business’ Commerce Community Program and the Sauder Sports Club, where he collaborated with local and national corporations to secure sponsorships supporting student recreational, educational, and volunteer initiatives across the Greater Vancouver area. In addition, he worked as the Head Teaching Assistant for Sauder’s core introductory course in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources (OBHR). Michael values each of these experiences and continually seeks new ways to give back to his community.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing golf, practicing guitar, collecting records, and learning and dreaming about cars.
