Aperçu
Michelle obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Victoria (UVic), Faculty of Law. Prior to this, Michelle obtained her Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Psychology from Simon Fraser University (SFU).
During law school, Michelle worked with the Department of Justice in their Business & Regulatory Law section on an Aboriginal rights and title trial and as a legal research assistant for Professor Freya Kodar. Michelle also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, where she assisted the Canadian Civil Liberties Association with their RightsWatch project, and volunteered as a student mentor with the Law Buddy Program.
Prior to law school, Michelle held multiple research assistant positions with various labs at SFU, worked with the John Howard Society as an outreach worker, and volunteered with the Crisis Centre of BC, where she answered phone calls received through the distress lines, seniors’ support line, mental health lines, and 1-800-SUICIDE lines.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys going to the gym, biking the Stanley Park seawall, watching sports, and park outings with her dog.
