Aperçu

Jillana completed a one-year clerkship at the BC Supreme Court for five Justices before commencing her articles with Miller Thomson.

Prior to that, Jillana completed her law degree at the Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. During her time at Allard, she won several awards, including the Gudmundseth Mickelson LLP Litigation Counsel Award in Law, the Panvini Scholarship in Law, the Karen Lysyk Memorial Scholarship, and the McCarthy Tétrault Prize in Property. Jillana kept herself busy during law school with various extracurricular activities, including volunteering as a Graduation Co-Chair, a Peer Tutor, the Co-Chair of the Environmental Law Group, and with Legal Education Outreach.

Before law school, she completed a biology degree in her home province at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating with the College of Arts and Science Most Outstanding Graduate Award in Biology. Throughout her time there, she earned various other academic awards, including the Right Reverend Monsignor Myroslav Kolodey Memorial Academic Prize, the St. Thomas More Biology Award, the Michael B. Zink Memorial Scholarship, and the Robert F. Horner Memorial Scholarship. During her undergraduate degree, she enjoyed working as a teaching assistant for various classes in the Department of Biology, and singing and playing violin with the Greystone Singers.

In her spare time, Jillana enjoys exploring nature, reading and cooking, and spending time with her husband and beloved dog Margo.

Jillana was called to the British Columbia bar in March 2022 but will remain in the articling program until September 2022.
