Hunter received his J.D. at Osgoode Hall Law School where he was a member of the Osgoode International Law Society. As the Managing Editor of Obiter Dicta, he wrote articles on politics and travel.

Hunter has received class awards for Legal Process and Legal Drafting, and also served as Dean’s Fellow for Constitutional Law under Craig Scott. Upon graduation, Hunter was awarded the Benjamin Laufer Prize for highest cumulative average in classes on international law.

Outside of academia, Hunter spent the last three years globetrotting. In 2017, he spent four months at the United Nations in northern Iraq working with Syrian, Turkish and Iranian refugees. In 2018, he went to Kashmir, India to volunteer legal research for a local NGO, helping draft the first ever, comprehensive report on torture in the region. In 2019, he traveled to Colombia and Honduras to meet refugees and migrants.

Hunter’s interests include philosophy, politics and travelling (37 countries and counting).
