Ellen is currently pursuing a dual JD from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Prior to law school, she attended the University of Toronto, where she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science degree, double majoring in Psychology and Cognitive Science. During undergrad, she completed an independent project under Dr. Kang Lee where she examined various facets of lying in children. She also showcased Dr. Lee’s work on National Geographic’s mini-documentary on lie-telling, published in the magazine’s June 2017 issue online.

Ellen has worked at multiple psychology labs within CAMH and the University of Toronto, as a Research Assistant and later as Lab Manager. During her time at CAMH she was part of a project team in 2014 that published a 144-page national report on youth psychological services provided across Ontario.

As a law student, Ellen completed an externship under Judge Patricia P. Fresard, the Presiding Judge of the Civil Division in the Third Judicial Court of Michigan. She is currently a Research Assistant to Associate Dean Gemma Smyth at University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law, and Teaching Assistant to the first year Comparative Legal Research and Writing course. Additionally, Ellen participated in the G. Mennen Williams Moot Court Competition and the Windsor Law Canadian Moot Court Competition in law school.

Ellen grew up spending time in Vancouver (BC), Seoul (Korea), Denver (US), and was a regular commuter to Sydney (Australia). Outside the office, Ellen is always planning her next adventure, indulging in stadium concerts, or desperately trying to keep up with Toronto’s ever-changing food scene.
