Catherine received her Juris Doctor with distinction from Western. Prior to attending law school, Catherine received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Huron College at Western.
During law school, Catherine remained actively involved in the Western community, participating in a variety of moot competitions and other activities. She worked as a research assistant for Professor Richard H. McLaren, O.C., supporting him in his academic pursuits and his arbitration practice. In this role, Catherine conducted research on sports law and worked on Professor McLaren’s publications spanning secured transactions, restructuring, and alternative dispute resolution. Catherine also worked as a Managing Editor on The Western Journal of Legal Studies. In this position she supervised the editing of student-submitted scholarship in preparation for its publication in the journal. An avid pianist, Catherine maintained her keyboard skills while at Western by playing the piano and organ for Sunday church services at the Huron College chapel.
In her third year of law school Catherine spent a semester studying at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. While on exchange, Catherine travelled to 10 countries throughout Europe. Upon graduation from law school, Catherine received the Law Society of Upper Canada Prize for academic excellence.
