Hiba is in the process of obtaining her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alberta. Prior to enrolling in law school, Hiba obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta.

During her time in law school, Hiba has enjoyed volunteering with Student Legal Services as well as the Women’s Law Forum. Hiba also writes articles for Canons of Construction as an editor, and performed in the 2023 production of Law Show as a dancer.

Prior to law school, Hiba worked as an office assistant at a boutique law firm in Edmonton, where she devloped an interest in civil litigation. Hiba was also a research assistant on a national study and volunteered with the PEERS Lab at the University of Alberta.

Hiba has been the recipient of numerous awards including the University of Alberta Psychology Excellence Scholarship (2020), the Jason Lang Scholarship (2019, 2020), the Indigo Books & Music Scholarship (2020) and the University of Alberta Academic Scholarship (2019).

In her spare time, Hiba enjoys watching movies, playing video games, and spending time with her Pomchi, Eddie.

Community involvement

Hiba served as a youth volunteer with Elizabeth Fry Society where she helped to lead workshops with at-risk female youth in the community. Hiba also worked with the non-profit organization Neighbourhood Bridges in assisting developmentally disabled adults to live autonomously in their homes.
