Jaya Scott is clerking at the Supreme Court of British Columbia in 2026\/2027, and will return to the firm thereafter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jaya graduated with her Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2025. During law school, Jaya was a research assistant to Professor Liora Lazarus, a Peer Tutor, and an assistant editor on the UBC Law Review. During the 2023-2024 school year, Jaya was an oralist on the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team which advanced to the International Competition Round of 32, and a clinician at the Allard International Justice and Human Rights Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the spring of 2025, Jaya served as co-chair of the peace and security negotiations during the Youth7 dialogue, one of the official engagement groups to the G7 Canadian presidency. Jaya previously represented Canada as a youth delegate to the Youth7 and the German G7 presidency in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to law school, Jaya graduated with distinction and as gold medalist of the Honours Specialization in International Relations BA(H) program at the University of Western Ontario. She also earned a Master of Science with distinction in Environmental Protection and Management from the University of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Away from her desk, Jaya enjoys dancing (she loves both Bharatanatyum and Ballet), reading fantasy and sci-fi novels, and walking along beaches, through forests, and up mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
