Vanessa earned her law degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (UBC). During law school, she was actively involved with the UBC Indigenous Law Students\u2019 Association (ILSA) and served as a student liaison with the Aboriginal Lawyers Forum. Vanessa also volunteered with the Law Students\u2019 Legal Advice Program (LSLAP), where she provided free legal services to low-income individuals in Metro Vancouver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to law school, Vanessa worked in the federal health sector, focusing on cannabis licensing and regulation. She supported stakeholder engagement initiatives, including community outreach and consultations with licence holders. Her work aimed to enhance regulatory communications and promote equitable access to the federally regulated cannabis industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
