Karina recently completed her Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she developed a strong interest in advocacy, legal research, and community involvement. Before studying law, she earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Industries from Toronto Metropolitan University \u2014 an interdisciplinary program where she focused on: business management, entrepreneurship, professional communication, and fashion. With a background that combines creativity and analytical thinking, Karina brings a distinctive lens to legal research and advocacy, finding innovative ways to engage with complex issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While at Osgoode, she served as Vice Chair of the Student Caucus of the Faculty Council (2024\u20132025), where she championed student interests and academic quality. Her commitment to justice and equity extended to her roles as Co-President of the Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR-O) and the Middle Eastern Law Student Association (MELSA), and as Vice-President (Internal) of the Immigration and Refugee Law Society. In these positions, she spearheaded initiatives that fostered inclusion, critical dialogue, and meaningful engagement on global human rights issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also served as a Research Assistant to both Dean Trevor Farrow and Professor Pina D\u2019Agostino, contributing to high-impact work on judicial independence, jury and trial advocacy, artificial intelligence, and copyright law. Notably, her research on judicial independence with Dean Trevor Farrow was published and presented at the XVII World Congress of Procedural Law in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through Osgoode\u2019s competitive Anti-Discrimination Intensive Program, Karina worked at the Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC), offering legal information, advocacy, and support to individuals experiencing discrimination under Ontario\u2019s Human Rights Code. Her hands-on experience at the HRLSC deepened her commitment to equity and access to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
