The entire MDS team will join the Firm in early November.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MDS advises entrepreneurs, private equity funds, family offices and growth-oriented companies in Western Canada and on Canada\/US cross-border transactions. The Chambers-ranked firm is recognized for its mid-market mergers and acquisitions and private equity work, particularly on complex deals, debt and growth equity financings and private equity fund formation. MDS was recognized by both <em>Canadian Lawyer Magazine<\/em> and <em>The Globe and Mail<\/em> as one of Canada\u2019s leading corporate law boutiques.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The acquisition advances Miller Thomson\u2019s strategy to expand its business law platform and strengthen its presence in Western Canada. It adds MDS\u2019 11 lawyers and a significant number of deals to the Firm&#8217;s national practice.&nbsp;Upon closing, Miller Thomson\u2019s Corporate, M&amp;A and Securities group will include approximately 130 lawyers across five provinces.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMDS has built a strong practice, trusted client relationships and a significant presence in British Columbia,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.millerthomson.com\/en\/your-team\/enzo-di-iorio\/\">Enzo Di Iorio<\/a>, Chair of Miller Thomson. \u201cOur two teams share a business-minded, practical approach to advising entrepreneurs and private company investors. Since January 2025, the Firm has added 38 lateral lawyers, including 13 partners in its Corporate, M&amp;A and Securities practice, as well as talent in Financial Services, Tax, Real Estate and Private Client Services.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MDS clients will gain access to Miller Thomson\u2019s national capabilities in banking and finance, tax, real estate, competition and other business law areas.
