Since 2017, several special laws have been enacted to frame major public transit infrastructure projects. However, a persistent challenge remains: the high cost of expropriation indemnities, which represents a significant portion of the budgets allocated to these projects. The presentation will explore the different principles of expropriation compensation (UMEPP and Planning Blight) currently in force, applied by Quebec courts and those that will soon be introduced in the Quebec legal landscape.<\/p>\n
