As the health industry looks at refocusing its energies and getting back to core activities, it is time to revisit the fundamentals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"arial_12\">Health professionals have a legal, ethical and professional obligation to obtain consent from the individual before providing treatment. Health organizations must ensure that they have appropriate policies and processes in place to ensure that informed consent is obtained, to address substitute decision making and advance directives. This session will explore core concepts of consent and capacity.
