Miller Thomson is pleased to announce its BACK TO BASICS Coffee Talk series. As the health industry looks at refocusing its energies and getting back to core activities, it is time to revisit the fundamentals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first of our series will look at patient safety, risk and quality documentation. Patient safety, risk and quality are cornerstones of high-quality patient care. As health organizations focus on transparency and accountability, creating a just culture, and ensuring that systems are in place to support quality, patient safety and risk activities, how do organizations ensure that they, their professionals and staff are not exposed to undue risk? This presentation will look at legal mechanisms that are available to support confidential discussions relating to risk, critical incident reviews, systemic issues and quality improvement, documentation strategies to minimize risk and the importance of having appropriate risk and privacy frameworks in place to support this activity.<\/span><\/p>\n
